Our History
Tempered Glass, Inc. started operations in 1972 as Tuf-Flex Glass, Inc. The company was owned and operated by Libbey-Owens-Ford and produced custom tempered glass by the vertical tong held process. In 1984 the company was sold, and in 1986 major changes were incorporated into the manufacturing process including a new Tamglass horizontal furnace. The company has gone through three expansions and has more than doubled the original floor space. A major part of this expansion was the addition of Insulating Glass in 1992. In August of 1999, Tempered Glass, Inc. became a founding company of United Glass Corp. (U.G.C.).

As part of U.G.C., T.G.I. continues to serve its customers throughout the Southeastern United States and specializes in commercial work through its network of glazing contractors.

Our Focus
Tempered Glass Inc.’s primary focus is supplying glass for use in commercial applications. Regardless of the product, we are dedicated to the success and satisfaction of our Customers. Commitment to customers is never just a slogan at T.G.I. and is the main reason we are the preferred supplier to hundreds of companies.
